An attractive English porcelain blue and white 8" transfer plate, made by John Meir & Son, Tunstall, Staffordshire Potteries,
England, in business from 1837-97. This plate, which probably dates from about 1840-1860, is in the Roselle pattern, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing. It is stamped in underglaze blue Roselle and J.M.& Co in a crowned garter belt mark. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A decorative and fine 19th century English cup and saucer with black transferware decoration c1860. This 2-3/8" high cup and matching 5-3/8" deep saucer both feature painted black trim and transfer scenes of a walking couple and a carriage approaching a manor house. There is a vignette of an elk on the other side of this unmarked cup, and this item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny flake to the handpainted black rim of the cup, some tiny spots of wear to the black rims, and the expected minor glaze irregularities. An early Royal Worcester porcelain cake stand with a pleasing Chinese style design in green and blue c1894. This 8-1/2" diameter stand is 1-3/4" high, and the design consists of green flowers and blue leaves and tendrils in a wide border with a large central design with a planter; it also has two small formal borders. It has the year mark for 1894 and a 546206 registry number. This item is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than some slight flecks to the green upper rim and some minor cutmarks, only a few of which slightly affect the design. A set of four 8-1/2" English porcelain fluted-edge tea (or in-between) plates in the Rome pattern, made by Copeland (Spode). Each has an impressed 80 year date (1880), and these plates have the grey/black colourway. They have the early impressed Copeland mark, and two have the printed Copeland mark; each has impressed pattern and month marks. This set is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs; each one has some very minor cutmarks not affecting the pattern and one has some overlazed frit near the edge. A scarce serving platter sized pierced drainer in the English ironstone transferware pattern Khyber Hawthorn, issued c1875-80 by Podmore & Walker / Wedgwood & Co. This 13" x 9-3/8" drainer features a great blue/black transfer of flowers, and it has the retailer's mark (James Green & Nephew, London). This rare item is in excellent condition, with no cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than a small chip with staining on the bottom edge (very old chip). A handsome British ironstone 12" x 9-1/2" blue transfer platter with a lovely Chinese scene and floral border with teal and rose pink over-painting. Marked 5/75 M (probably for March or May, 1875) with a 2 and the hand painted pattern number 6369 3, this platter is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, wear, crazing, repairs or damage; there is a bit of brown discolouration on some parts of the inner rim and wear through to the brown clay on the bottom, as would be expected on a piece this age, and the interior of the platter has lost its sheen from a fine network of cut marks which has worn off a bit of the gloss, but has left the pattern intact. There is a flaw in the glaze (see picture closeup) which could either be a glaze flaw with a small stress crack which has allowed minor browning, or an old impact. It is not a chip, and does not appear to be cracked, and the glaze is intact and in no danger of flaking. A prize for your kitchen or wall display. An attractive blue & white dinner plate by Royal Worcester (England). It is covered with Oriental motifs, which was quite popular in English china in the 1870s. It is date stamped for 1876 and measures 10 3/8" across. It is in excellent overall condition, but does show signs of use - there are cut marks on the plate, and the glaze shows darker/brownish at the edges where the glaze appears to have been more thinly applied. However, these details are minor, and it shows well and is completely useable if you wish. An early to mid 19th century English hand painted over blue transfer ware cup and saucer c1850. This 2-1/4" tall cup and matching 5-7/8" saucer has been decorated in the popular 19thC Imari colours. It has an orange painted pattern number of 245 1/2 on the bottom of the cup, and an early ironstone type body, and it has a cobalt blue, orange, yellow and light orange lustre colour palette in the form of flowers and branches with a garden wall - it looks a bit like Ridgway in shape (and Ridgway often only had an orange painted pattern number on their items) or Mason's, but is not marked with a manufacturer's mark, unfortunately, as sometimes happened. It is in very good condition for its age with no cracks, losses, repairs or damage; it has some allover crazing with some light staining to the craze lines on the center of the saucer and three small glaze scrapes two on the saucer and one on the cup.
