A Sheffield plate helmet style cream jug circa 1780-1800. This 5" high genuine cream pitcher predates electroplating and it consists of thin layers of silver laid on to copper sheets; the sandwich of metals is then formed into the desired object. This unsigned creamer is in good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs; it has the expected areas of copper blush from polishing over the last couple of centuries. Re-plating these period pieces tends to devalue them from a Sheffield plate collection point of view. A genuine late 17th to mid 18th century hand made openwork European grade sterling pierced strainer or ladle with a gilded bowl. This unusual 8" ladle has a gilt and pierced 2-3/8" x 2" bowl with a pouring lip, and would be a slightly higher than 800 grade silver. The openwork handle has wonderfully ornate hand made wire-work with two central medallions, which have never been engraved/monogrammed. The handle is completely hand made and it is applied to the bowl with a rat-tail. It has two hallmarks on the back of the handle, the clearest of the two is a round punch with an animal figure that appears to be a standing bear with an I to the right (the stamp was slightly larger than the handle, so the animal head is missing). This appears to be a mark used in Berlin (Germany) in the 17th and 18th century. The other mark is a simple S or snake mark, and we have not traced this mark/maker. The style, workmanship, patina and appearance of the piece is consistent with German and Austrian silver being manufactured in this period, so the mark is consistent with the visible age of the piece (late 17th to mid 18th century). We haven't run across this exact utensil before, so are unsure which particular food or drink it was used to strain - it could be a variant of a fruit punch or mead or wine strainer or skimmer. It is in really exceptionally fine condition with no monograms, repairs or damage. The end of the filigree work nearest the bowl is not soldered, but this may be an aspect of design rather than a break in the silver that may have occurred. A nice pair of Georgian English sterling 5-5/8" sugar tongs with elegant bright cut decoration. A pair of English sterling silver master salt spoons, fully hallmarked for London, England 1817. They are 4" in length., and have the maker's mark for Wm. Chawner (entered 1815). They weigh 34.5 grams. There is a heraldic crest of an English Ducal coronet with a lion rampant holding a circular object. They are in excellent original condition with no losses, damage or visible repairs.

An early to mid 19th century turned yew (or fruit) wood covered gaming cup with 9 hand carved and painted bone die c1820-50. The box retains some of its original red stain and it measures 2-1/8" tall and 1-1/4" across the top. The dice are also 19th century vintage, and measure 3/8" (largest), 5/16" (medium) and the remaining seven are 1/4" across. This gambling or gaming item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, losses, damage or repairs other than the loss of much of the original red staining. This simple and elegant late Regency period sterling silver master butter knife is in the Fiddle pattern and it is fully hallmarked for London, England 1836. It has a WE maker's mark (most likely Wm. A large and heavy 8-1/2" Georgian Dublin sterling silver dinner fork, hallmarked for 1829. This heavy fork has an attractive double dolphin crest on the back of the handle and has the maker's mark for Matthew West and Peter Moore. Antique Irish silver is far scarcer than English, and this fork is a great find. This item is in excellent condition, with no dents, bends, monograms, wear, scratches, corrosion, repairs or damage other than some very light scoring on the extreme bottom ends of the tines from use. Otherwise this fork is in unusually excellent condition. A scarce and early red and white transfer large 10-1/2" rim soup bowl c1830s, in the Tadmor In The Desert pattern. From Jackson's Warranted (England) Holy Bible series, this early c1830s bowl is in fair original condition with no cracks, or repairs; it has the following condition notes - some minor inner rim losses (largest shown is 1/2", looks like a spoon rested in that spot for about 150 years, the rest are small), some minor outer edge glaze flakes, loss of gloss and fine network of cutmarks to the bowl interior from decades of use (not affecting transfer), allover crazing visible on back only, stained area on back. In fine condition considering its age, this scarce bowl shows quite well. A 19thC W.R. Loftus, London bronze cup measure. This late 19thC hand-made 2-1/4" bronze measuring cup was made by W.R. Loftus of 146 & 320 Oxford St., London, England. In business from c1860-1940, this company made pewter, beer machinery, bar fittings and also scientific equipment. This tapered cup has a ringed design and it is stamped LOFTUS LONDON 3. It has a brass soldered seam and bottom insert, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor patina from use and some minor bending of the upper rim. A Japanese Moriage green footed & handled porcelain vase circa 1880 with roses. This finely decorated pale green 4-1/2" high vase has a crimped neck, two handles, and three feet, and it features hand painted roses and leaves on a green ground. It is decorated with pale yellow and white jeweling and and pipework. It is unsigned as expected. This beautiful little vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small flake and scrape to the green ground near one rose and the loss of a couple of the yellow beads or jewels (barely noticeable). A Royal Worcester blue and green floral design pedestal cake stand with the Worcester year date mark for 1913. This antique 8-1/2" diameter English bone china small cake stand is 1-3/4" tall. The design consists of green flowers with blue leaves and tendrils in a blue traditional Asian square plant-pot. It has an inner border-design, also in green. It also has a British registry number of 546206, indicating the design was registered in in Britain in 1909. Replacements.com calls this design RW7. Our stand has no underside number (if there at all, such numbers were usually on English china for stores to use in ordering the china). This item is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than some slight flecks to the green upper rim paint trim and some very minor cut marks, only a few of which slightly affect the design.

An attractive blue & white dinner plate by Royal Worcester (England). It is covered with Oriental motifs, which was quite popular in English china in the 1870s. It is date stamped for 1876 and measures 10 3/8" across. It is in excellent overall condition, but does show signs of use - there are cut marks on the plate, and the glaze shows darker/brownish at the edges where the glaze appears to have been more thinly applied. A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document.
