An Avon Belleville (Mazer) sterling rhinestone necklace & bracelet. This vintage 1950s-60s sterling silver 14-1/4" necklace and matching 7" bracelet is set with bezel set facetted square cut rhinestones, made by Avon Belleville. Founded by Abe Mazer of Mazer/Jomaz and located in Belleville, Ontario, Canada (1945-71), this company was purchased by the California Perfume Company (Avon) in 1971 (info from Illusionjewels, with thanks). Each piece is 3/16" wide and each has a snapover catch; they are signed AVON STERLING. This 2 x 1-3/8" pin features mottled green and black horn-shaped "stones" of carved Bakelite in imitation of jade and onyx; it also has two large claw-set closed-back flashy rhinestones. It has silverplated hooks on the front and a screw-mounted setting with a blackened finish on the back, which has the original c-clasp. A Chinese cinnabar & enamel floral dress clip circa 1900. This nice quality antique 3-3/4" x 1" Chinese cinnabar and multicolour enamel floral dress clip features a filigree silver setting with a spring-hinged long dress clip clasp; it has a toothed rake at the end to hold it to the fabric. A nice mid-Victorian early thermoplastic or vulcanite cameo brooch c1860-70. Made of the same medium brown thermoplastic used in the era for items such as photograph cases (and sometimes mis-described as gutta percha, and also known by the trade name of Vulcanite), this 1-7/8" x 1-1/2" brooch has fine detail, and it depicts a cameo of very high definition (she sits a full 3/8" above the surface platform). She is a classical period Greek beauty with her eyes closed and a look of rapture on her face - she looks like Penelope from the classic Greek epic myth. The platform surface is surrounded by a twisted rope border. It has a replaced pin with a safety catch, and this lovely pin is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining, corrosion, repairs or damage other than the pin replacement. An E A Bliss gold plated buckle design sash brooch circa 1895. This hand engraved pin measures 3-1/8" x 1-5/8" and has the original c-clasp. It has the company mark of the EA Bliss company of New York (est. 1875). This company later became Napier. Sash pins were quite popular at the end of the Victorian era, with some fine Art Nouveau designs also. An Edwardian pot metal paste bangle 1910-1920. This vintage 5/16" wide paste rhinestone hinged bangle is made of dull grey pot metal (brightened in our pictures), and it has dozens of claw-set antique cut paste rhinestones. Paste of this era was less sparkly than later versions and glinted like antique cut diamonds in low lighting conditions (such as at night). It has a double-button box clasp and it is unsigned, and it measures 2-3/8 x 2-1/16" across the interior.
