A nice mid-Victorian early thermoplastic or vulcanite cameo brooch c1860-70. Made of the same medium brown thermoplastic used in the era for items such as photograph cases (and sometimes mis-described as gutta percha, and also known by the trade name of Vulcanite), this 1-7/8" x 1-1/2" brooch has fine detail, and it depicts a cameo of very high definition (she sits a full 3/8" above the surface platform). She is a classical period Greek beauty with her eyes closed and a look of rapture on her face - she looks like Penelope from the classic Greek epic myth. The platform surface is surrounded by a twisted rope border. It has a replaced pin with a safety catch, and this lovely pin is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining, corrosion, repairs or damage other than the pin replacement. A wild vintage 1950s-60s glass multistrand spring bangle or bracelet with glass beads. This bracelet is reminiscent of the style of Miriam Haskell, and it has painted gold, yellow/clear paperweight style and white wafer glass beads on spring steel wires. It has unusual drops comprising gold, white and green loaf-shaped beads wired onto a gilt platform mounted on the coils. It measures 1-1/4" across at rest (it will fit much larger wrists) and 3/4" across; the drops extend 1". A vintage 1920s facetted crystal bead necklace c1920s. This 16-1/2" necklace consists of small and large crystal beads (maximum 3/8" wide) with a subtle mauve colour strung on a thin chain, with a barrel clasp. A splendid, well made vintage 1950s crystal and rhinestone gold plated fly pin. Possibly Austrian, this unsigned pin measures 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" and it has gold plated filigree openwork "wings" and a safety catch. The stones include a huge faceted topaz coloured unfoiled crystal, champagne and cinnamon brown rhinestones and a teardrop cabochon crystal. All are closed back and claw set except the unfoiled central crystal. Navy blue bakelite is possibly one of the least commonly seen colours in single coloured period bakelite items. An attractive mid-Victorian mourning brooch c1860-80. It is a pressed horn with a dark resinous/lacquer finish to resemble jet or bog oak (which was a semi-petrified and preserved wood from the marshy bogs of Ireland, less common even in the 19th century, so also imitated). This 1-5/8" x 1" pin features a high relief flower spray; it has the original brass c-clasp. This piece of mourning jewelry is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs except a small edge flake. A dazzling cherry red and sparkling white crystal and paste Art Deco coat or dress clip c1920. The beautiful quality brilliant cherry red unfoiled cut glass stones and the centre white round antique cut rhinestone are riveted (they spin) onto the delicate brass filigree back. The colour is deeper and more sparkling than they appear in our unfortunate pictures... There is a a two spike coat clip behind this, and it measures 1 13/16" across. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, wear, staining, repairs or damage. It is unmarked but has the distinctive look and feel of Czechoslovakian manufacture.
