An attractive late Victorian / Edwardian 14k yellow gold shooting star stickpin c1900-10. This 2-1/4" pin has a 5/8" x 1/4" top with a claw-set natural 3 mm. pearl and a claw-set genuine diamond. This pin shows both the fascination at the time with the solar system, many stickpins had moon, stars and planets at the time, and the shooting star had romantic connotations as well, which made it a suitable sweetheart gift. It weighs 1.2 grams (without the included bulldog) and is stamped 14K with an obscured maker's mark. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
