An attractive late Georgian / Regency period 1-1/8" x 1" banded carnelian agate brooch c1835, mounted in 15k yellow gold. This pin features a deeply tooled floral border, the stone is a nice white banded carnelian agate, and this pin has a modified and later c-clasp (converted from a thumbwheel catch which was replaced at a later date). This brooch has everything Art Nouveau is known for - sinuous and naturalistic design, pearls and finish; it has a c-clasp and it measures 1 x 7/8". A pretty late Victorian design 14k yellow gold & diamond brooch c1895. The free and graceful open whirling design of this piece shows the transition from stylized Victorian to the more flowing Art Nouveau influence. It measures 1" across, and in the centre is a claw set clear white European cut genuine diamond, measuring 3.5 mm. across / approximately 15 points. It has a gate latch safety clasp, where it is stamped 14k. It is in very good condition, with all of the claw work in excellent condition, and the diamond in excellent condition also, but please note there appears to be an old professional repair visible only on the back of the brooch.
