An unusual pair of 9k yellow gold collar buttons or studs in the original fitted box. Made in England by EAP for sale by Birks, Canada's top retailer of finery, this set is in the original gold trimmed German made silk and plush lined 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" box. Each button is 9/16" across and each is marked 9C EAP. Unusually, this set has one 1/4" deep button and one is 7/16" deep to allow for a different thickness of material (from silk to thick linen). The pair weighs 1.8 grams, and this set and box are in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than just a touch of wear to the bottom of the box. A genuine 1911 English solid gold full sovereign coin (22 mm.) in a 9k yellow gold coin pendant setting. The coin is 22k solid gold and it weighs 7.98 grams with the pendant weighing an additional .82 grams. The setting is an expanding, non-invasive retaining ring with a wirework upper loop. It is not soldered and the coin can be removed (it can be rotated within the loop, aligning the design if desired). The coin has some mild wear and fine patina from use as a pendant. The pendant is stamped with a full set of Birmingham, England hallmarks (including 375 and a W.P maker's mark). The 9k hallmarks of the setting are extremely small and we have reached the age of bifocals, so we can't make out the year date. This item is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
