A pair of signed Mexican sterling silver and brass pierced earrings signed Laton c1970s. The earrings are a silver dome designed with a double rope design surrounding the dome - the rope design is brass, and the ball and earring back surface is sterling. Laton was a retailer of jewellery in Mexico, but Laton also means brass in Spanish. The earring backs are stainless posts with clear plastic discs. The earrings are stamped 925 MEXICO and LATON, and they measure just a hair under 15/16" across. They are in excellent condition, with no damage or repairs (some fine silver patination from use) and weigh 11.6 grams. A sterling silver Scottish 1-7/8" across coat pin, fully hallmarked for Glasgow, Scotland 1949-50. It has an RA maker's mark and it features a thistle design with an amber claw-set open-backed crystal stone. It has a simple c-clasp and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. There is some roughness to the silver flanking the stone where some of the cast silver hasn't been removed cleanly. A scarce and unusual Victorian sterling silver and gold Mizpah bracelet c1870-90. This unmarked piece of sentimental Victorian jewellery features a spring-style bangle configuration mounted with the attached hearts under a bow, with yellow gold engraved flowers and rose gold leaves on textured silver tendrils. This unusual Victorian period bracelet measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" across the interior and 5/8" across the heart and ribbon. There is a retaining pin at the bottom of one heart to lock the bangle closed in place, it weighs 9.5 grams, and this item is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two dents on one heart and on one edge of the bracelet and a bit of flattening near the bottom. An unusual sterling silver and agate Celtic design brooch c1910, in the shape of a broad ax. This brooch is hallmarked Chester 1910-11 and A & LL (makers mark). The great demand for the pebble jewellery led to its production in Chester and Birmingham. The top spike and blade of the ax are set with speckly grey and a white agate. It measures 2 3/8" in length, and is 11/16" at the widest. It is in excellent condition, and it closes with a c-clasp. The only detail to note is that the agates are not set flush to the silver as the earlier Scottish pieces were - they all sit up, and one agate is set a bit crooked (sits higher than the other two). A fine quality Victorian round engraved sterling brooch with applied engraved leaves in pink and green gold c1875. This Aesthetic style pin is unsigned but tests as sterling, and it features balls around the perimeter, a ridged border and central hand engraving. The textured and engraved leaves in gold are applied sections of sheet gold, and this pin closes with a c-clasp. A stylish pair of Mexican sterling silver screwback earrings c1950s-1960. These 1" diameter earrings have nice cut-work design and a dome shape with a flat back for a shadowbox design, and they are stamped MEXICO 925; the maker's mark is obscured by the screwbacks (but it may be VOO). Please note that the earrings are both the exact same size - one earring is sitting higher up than the other in the photographer's hand, showing one in a closer perspective than the other, and makes it appear as though they are a different size, but that is not the case - they are a correct matched pair. A size 8-1/4 silver (tested) ring with a labradorite cabochon stone. The stone has nice blue/green transluscency and shimmer and the ring measures 3/4 x 1/2" across the stone and mount. It has a possible set of maker's marks (very tiny) and it weighs 6.6 grams; it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny notch in the edge of the shank which appears original to the manufacture of this ring.
