A vintage Art Deco sterling silver sautoir necklace c1920s. It is 18" in length (not counting drop, which hangs 1-1/8"), with an all-over faceted cut green glass drop suspended from an unfoiled round antique cut crystal stone in an open back setting. This attractive Art Deco period necklace is stamped STERLING and GERMANY on the clasp, with a E in a diamond mark, which means it was sold at Eaton's, a Canadian fine goods retail chain no longer in operation. The green drop looks like chrysophrase or imperial jade, but it is undoubtedly cut glass as it is not as cool to the touch as a genuine stone should be (we haven't had it tested). It is in very good condition with no cracks, corrosion, repairs or replacements, but please note there is a very tiny flake on one upper edge of the crystal (barely visible). This 2" x 1-1/4" high style clip features multitudes of silvered and flashy marcasites, with a central carnelian disc; it is stamped KD STERLING. This clip has signs of being a conversion from a brooch, and it would make a classy addition to your collection.
