A vintage Victorian sterling silver knife-edge bar pin c1875-80, featuring a large cabochon natural opal. This 1-7/16" long pin has a central 3/8" x 1/4" high domed cabochon opal set in a floreate sterling setting; it has great translucency with lots of depth and intense orange/red and green/blue fire (much more intense than in our pictures). It is not marked but tests as sterling silver, and it has the original c-clasp. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, dents, corrosion, repairs or damage. A Victorian Scottish silver agate brooch c1880s. This sterling pin is unmarked but tests as sterling; it is most likely of Scottish origin (English pins were usually hallmarked). It measures 1-3/8 x 1-1/8" and it has demilune shaped grey and white banded agate stones with a central silver thistle. It has a c-clasp, and it is in very good original condition with no cracks, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the replacement of one of the stones with what looks like milk glass (some chips to this one). All stones are hand cut and have the expected irregularities.
