A superb late Victorian period tortoiseshell celluloid hair backcomb with an opulent paste laden wings set into a rolled gold plated setting c1890. This lovely hair accessory measures 5-1/8" x 2-3/4", and the white paste claw-set stones are mounted on a gold plated wing shaped back plate. The paste stones are all claw set and mounted into a twist wirework superstructure. The backing plate is a rolled rose gold sheet pin mounted into the comb. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minute tarnish/corrosion spots near the edge of the plate (not particularly noticeable). A funky addition to your 1950s retro table. This is a set of dyed straw glass liners in their original black wire carrying tray. The liners each have a silk MADE IN ITALY sewn-on tag, and they are in pairs, in purple, orange, gold and bronze colours (each 2-3/4" across and 2-3/4" deep). The 16 x 8-1/2" carrying tray has plastic-cord wrapped handles, and this set is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a split on one plastic handle wrap. A wonderfully styled vintage Art Deco pocket comb in green celluloid with a designed sleeve. This 4-1/2 x 1-1/8" comb is in a green celluloid, which has mellowed to an olive and light butterscotch brown colour. The comb has a checkerboard decoration with cream white squares on a green and copper metallic ground; the cover has black paint, subtle hand carving and gold highlights. Both pieces are unsigned, however we aren't sure if they started life together or not, although they fit together well (the decoration is different on each piece). This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than the mellowing of the once bright green colour. A fabulous vintage Art Deco period brushed chrome or rhodium plate compact with red rhinestones c1920s, made by Jules Richard. This 2" x 1-5/8" compact has a snap-over latch catch and wonderful Deco highlights with red rhinestones; it retains its original signed puff, mirror and powder screen, and it is in very good original condition with no dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the loss of the screen pull, a bit of silvering on the mirror back (from the mounting glue) and some minor surface abrasions (exaggerated under our halogens). A scarce Jackfield-style Royalty commemorative teapot from 1897 celebrating the diamond jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria. This English teapot measures 9-1/4" across the handle and spout and it stands 7" tall; it has a gold coloured stencil of Victoria on one side and the commemorative legend on the other. There are also thistles, roses and shamrocks and there are hand applied enamels in orange, white and blue. It is stamped in gold MADE IN ENGLAND 936 F on the bottom and this item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining, losses, repairs or damage other than some allover crazing to the black glaze showing white in a few places and grey in most (see pictures); the lid is uncrazed. A simple and elegant ladies wristwatch from Christian Dior with its original case. It has a brushed stainless steel case, with a grey watch face - the numbers and hands are gold, and it is marked Christian Dior Paris, (as is the strap and case). It is a manual wind (winder enamelled CD), and the 17 jewel works were made by Wittnauer (Geneva, Switzerland) - the case is also Swiss. The strap is a dark grey lizard/leather, backed with pale gray leather, with a clever CD insignia adjustable clasp. The case is grey suede with silk & velvet lining, and other than a small pen mark, it is in excellent shape. It is a genuine vintage Christian Dior wristwatch, and it is in excellent condition, in working order & with little wear, but I can't guarantee the working condition time, as I don't know when or if it was ever cleaned. It was purchased originally about 30 years ago. A two colour woven wall hanging with block prints of Inuit children in parkas c1960s. This Cape Dorset 19-3/8" x 15-1/4" (including fringe) hanging has images in a medium green and a yellow/green, and it has two hanging tassels on the right side. It is unsigned, and it is in very good condition with no losses, repairs or damage other than a stain on the lower left and the unravelling of the strand holding the tassels.
