A scarce English bone china hand painted over transfer souvenir 2-7/8" tall cup and matching 5-3/4" saucer depicting the Grenfell Mission Hospital in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada c1930. The Grenfell Mission Hospital was established by Wilfred Grenfell, and is now famous for its handicrafts made by women in Newfoundland and Labrador, especially the highly collectible Grenfell rugs. This gold trimmed cup and saucer is marked ROYAL ASCOT BONE CHINA 350 MADE IN ENGLAND EXCLUSIVELY FOR POMEROY BROS ST ANTHONY NFLD. A vintage Art Deco brushed chrome or rhodium plate compact with red rhinestones c1920s, made by Jules Richard. This 2 x 1-5/8" compact has a snapover catch and wonderful Deco highlights with red rhinestones; it retains its original signed puff, mirror and powder screen, and it is in very good original condition with no dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the loss of the screen pull, a bit of silvering on the mirror back (from the mounting glue) and some minor surface abrasions (exaggerated under our halogens). A vintage Victorian late 19th century genuine mother of pearl change purse. This 2-7/8" x 2" purse (closed) has a red linen cloth lined compartmented interior and nickel plating. The shell is attached to the cloth, accordion style, to allow a little extension of the purse. It is typically unsigned and is guaranteed to be a genuine late Victorian period change purse. It is in very good original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than some very slight surface corrosion spots on the original nickel plating. The linen interior has some upper edge separation at the centre of the separate compartments and two minor tears at the interior folds, but it remains functional and intact. A gilt brass and celluloid 2-3/4" tie clip c1938-40, from the Cunard steamship liner Queen Elizabeth I. Launched in 1938, the QEI was retrofitted for the war effort in 1940, and relaunched in 1946. She was taken out of service as a luxury liner in 1968. This clip features a 5/8" x 1/2" celluloid view of the ship, with Queen Elizabeth written below the ship, and it is in excellent original condition with no cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; there is a slight patina of fine scratches visible (when looked at under a 10X loupe) on the celluloid, but these are not otherwise visible or noticeable.
