A scarce 2-1/8" x 1-3/8" cardboard matchbox from Canadian National Railways. This red, black and white Eddy match box features French on one side and English on the other; it is intact with bright graphics and the original inner tray. We were told it dates to c1950. I have never run across one before. It is in very good original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a touch of bumping to the edges and strike wear to the emery strips. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use. A decorative 10-3/4" high silver plated cocktail shaker c1930s. This shaker features a hammered body and a mushroom-style cap with a threaded, cork-lined spout cap; it is stamped VIKING PLATE MADE IN CANADA E.P. COPPER LEAD MOUNTS on the bottom. This item is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small, shallow dent near the hdndle and a bit of copper showing near the bottom on the interior. A superb late Victorian period tortoiseshell celluloid hair backcomb with an opulent paste laden wings set into a rolled gold plated setting c1890. This lovely hair accessory measures 5-1/8" x 2-3/4", and the white paste claw-set stones are mounted on a gold plated wing shaped back plate. The paste stones are all claw set and mounted into a twist wirework superstructure. The backing plate is a rolled rose gold sheet pin mounted into the comb. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minute tarnish/corrosion spots near the edge of the plate (not particularly noticeable). A beautiful American advertising premium item c1900. It consists of a fine silver plated frame with fancy design work holding a sheaf of 7 oblong blotting papers, and covered with a celluloid lined cover. Issued as an advertising premium and marked E.H. NOBLE & CO. JEWELERS FINDINGS STEEL SHELL JEWELLERY BOXES CHICAGO ILL. on the ornate Art Nouveau silver plated mount, this 7-1/2" x 2-3/4" blotter is in superb original unused condition. The plated binding (held by tabs through the papers) is in excellent shape, the lined celluloid cover is excellent with only the expected very minor fine abrasions from age and the green blotters appear to be in unused excellent condition except for the top leaf which has faded from exposure to light (see picture).
