A simple and elegant American sterling silver 8" bowl, made by Hickock Matthews Company of Newark, New Jersey. This bowl weighs 6.5 ounces,it has the Matthews maker's mark with STERLING 2090-7 on the bottom. It stands 1-3/4" high and it is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a shallow crease in the center of the bowl and a tiny etched number near the mark. A nice English sterling silver 1-1/8" wide and 1-3/4" across napkin ring, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1932 (J.S maker's mark, possibly for James Swann of Birmingham). A rare "go-with" in the International sterling Enchanted Rose pattern, introduced in 1954. Go-withs were accessories in some popular flatware patterns and can include tea sets, vases and other decorative items; this is a 7" diameter (9-1/8" with handles) and 1-3/4" deep serving bowl. An unmarked but Arts and Crafts period bud vase with a square and austere silver plated base and a hand blown and pulled square glass vase insert with a flared neck c1890-1900. This vase measures 7/8" across the base and it stands 6" high; it has all of the handcrafted style expected in the Arts and Crafts European style of this era. We were informed that it probably came from Scotland originally. This vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, dents, repairs or damage other than a slight bit of brassing at the edges of the stand. This hard-to-find mustard pot measures 2-7/8" diameter (excluding handle), it has gorgeous repousse work with clover leaves and it includes an unmarked 3-5/8" silver plate shell pattern mustard spoon. A sterling silver ladies mesh purse c1900-10. It is in excellent condition - no damage or missing parts, and it snaps shut firmly and evenly. It has not been initialled or engraved. It measures 5 " in width when it is hanging down, & 9" wide when extended. It measures 5 3/4" from top to bottom, not including the chain handle, which measures 14" in straight length. It weighs 220 grams / 7.6 ounces, and is marked Sterling Silber (instead of Sterling silver) inside of the handle, and both the handle and mesh have been tested and are guaranteed to be silver.
