A simple and elegant American sterling silver 8" bowl, made by Hickock Matthews Company of Newark, New Jersey. This bowl weighs 6.5 ounces,it has the Matthews maker's mark with STERLING 2090-7 on the bottom. It stands 1-3/4" high and it is in excellent original condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a shallow crease in the center of the bowl and a tiny etched number near the mark. A sterling silver ladies mesh purse c1900-10. It is in excellent condition - no damage or missing parts, and it snaps shut firmly and evenly. It has not been initialled or engraved. It measures 5 " in width when it is hanging down, & 9" wide when extended. It measures 5 3/4" from top to bottom, not including the chain handle, which measures 14" in straight length.
