A nice quality Birks sterling 5" x 2-1/8" two-handled cup-top tea strainer. This strainer is stamped BIRKS STERLING 10/55 with the year marks for 1945. They have an unidentified VF mark, one has no marks, 4 are stamped 900 and 5 are stamped 925, however all are identical and from the same maker and obviously a set. A vintage English sterling cruet set consisting of the 2-1/4" tall and 2-5/8" across the handle mustard pot and two 2-7/8" tall shakers. All pieces are on three feet, and the mustard pot has a cobalt glass liner and it includes a 2-1/4" silver plated mustard spoon. It has hallmarks for Birmingham England 1931-2 and an S Ld maker's mark (touch of roughness and polishing to liner, small edge bend on upper rim (easily straightened)). One shaker is hallmarked for Birmingham 1926-7 and it is by the same maker as the mustard pot; the other shaker is hallmarked for London 1907-8 with the maker's mark for Edward Barnard & Sons, Ltd. (2 shallow dents on girdle). This set is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, monograms, repairs or damage other than described above.
