An unmarked but Arts and Crafts period bud vase with a square and austere silver plated base and a hand blown and pulled square glass vase insert with a flared neck c1890-1900. This vase measures 7/8" across the base and it stands 6" high; it has all of the handcrafted style expected in the Arts and Crafts European style of this era. We were informed that it probably came from Scotland originally. This vase is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, dents, repairs or damage other than a slight bit of brassing at the edges of the stand. Shipping is $6 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A scarce serving platter sized pierced drainer in the English ironstone transferware pattern Khyber Hawthorn, issued c1875-80 by Podmore & Walker / Wedgwood & Co. This 13" x 9-3/8" drainer features a great blue/black transfer of flowers, and it has the retailer's mark (James Green & Nephew, London). This rare item is in excellent condition, with no cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than a small chip with staining on the bottom edge (very old chip). A fine addition to any ironstone or transferware collection! Surface shipping begins at $18 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A very unusual early ironstone covered handled dish with scenes of girls playing with dogs, playing a flute and riding horses c1860. This dish measures 7-1/4" across the handles and it stands 3-3/4" tall and it must have been part of a nice quality child's nursery set. This covered tureen has white ironstone lid with applied high relief figures in the soft blue colour of Chelsea Sprig ironstone from this era. I would imagine it was used for hot cereal or porridge. It has a Greek key embossed border on the lid, an acanthus style border on the base and lines and scrolls on the foot. It is unmarked and it is in remarkably excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage. There is a burst glaze bubble on the underside of the lid, which isn't visible when displayed, and this is original to the manufacture of the piece, and is not damage, but we like to mention all details (see picture). A great and unusual addition to any collection of antique children's dishes, and a very attractive piece. Surface shipping starts at $12 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A superb pair of true Arts and Crafts stoneware pottery matched ewers in a rich chocolate brown colour, c1880-1900. The upper shoulders or these 7-5/8" ewers or pitchers are in a glossy glaze, and the lower body has a naturalistic matte glaze over a stippled style textured surface topped with a decorative linked band of semicircles. The glaze didn't quite flow to cover the interiors of the hand made spouts and the bottoms are unglazed. They are unsigned, but look and feel like English stoneware - fairly similar in appearance and feel to the Doulton art stoneware, or Lovett's. Their elegant straight angle handles have a look of pieces designed by Christopher Dresser, and these unsigned ewers would look great with any Arts & Crafts or modern decor. This pair is in excellent condition, with no cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than some minor chipping to the extreme bottom rim of one vase only (see pic). Shipping is $14 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A deeply carved, high relief antique Chinese hand carved ivory broach set in a high grade silver (tests as sterling grade or better) setting. It most likely dates to the 18th to early 19th century. The scene shows six figures, one seated away in the building, and the others sitting and standing around one carrying a large covered bowl - just about to partake of a meal or see a treasure revealed. There is a lovely flowering tree in the scene also. It measures 1 9/16" x 1 1/4", and is 3/8" deep. The silver setting is bezel set around the back of the ivory. It is in excellent and original condition, with no damage or repairs (there is a little surface grime, visible in the picture) and it has its original c clasp. It is unmarked, which is fairly common with these brooches. A beauty! Surface shipping is $6 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US.

A large and striking 19th century carnelian agate set in a classic 9k yellow gold barley twist setting c1860-80. It measures 2 5/8" x 2", and has a safety catch, which would have been added later. The gold setting is heavy and well made, and all of the claws and rope work are in perfect shape. The stone is a really attractive slab of carnelian agate, it is 1/4" thick. It has a bevelled edge and is highly polished. It is in excellent and original condition, but I must note that the stone (which was clearly picked for its unusual appearance) has a tiny naturally occuring gap near the edge (about the size of a pin top) and there is a fissure in the stone - again naturally occuring and not detrimental - which looks like a crack, but isn't. It doesn't go through the stone at all points and will not affect the integrity of the piece, but we like to mention all details, and it is visible in the picture. Trackable surface shipping starts at $12.50 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. Please note that we do NOT accept Paypal.

A most attractive vintage sterling silver Art Nouveau period brooch c1900. A flowing haired fin-du-siecle beauty, staring wistfully off, with a large poppy (a symbol of forgetfulness) beside her. It is a large brooch, measuring 2-7/16" x 2-1/4". Sterling front and back, and it is very slightly curved, as they sometimes were, to sit better on the body. It is stamped Sterling only, but is clearly a fine quality example. Original nickle pin and c-clasp, and excellent condition - no damage or repairs. A lovely example of Art Nouveau period jewellery, and guaranteed to be an original period brooch. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Tracked surface expedited insured shipping starts $23 (to the US - other spots may vary) insurance & tracking included in shipping quotes. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: we DO NOT accept PayPal, only VISA and MASTERCARD.
