| An early to mid 19th century English hand painted over blue transfer ware cup and saucer c1850. This 2-1/4" tall cup and matching 5-7/8" saucer has been decorated in the popular 19thC Imari colours. It has an orange painted pattern number of 245 1/2 on the bottom of the cup, and an early ironstone type body, and it has a cobalt blue, orange, yellow and light orange lustre colour palette in the form of flowers and branches with a garden wall - it looks a bit like Ridgway in shape (and Ridgway often only had an orange painted pattern number on their items) or Mason's, but is not marked with a manufacturer's mark, unfortunately, as sometimes happened. It is in very good condition for its age with no cracks, losses, repairs or damage; it has some allover crazing with some light staining to the craze lines on the center of the saucer and three small glaze scrapes two on the saucer and one on the cup. An attractive early piece of English ceramics. Small packet surface shipping starts at $9 (to the US - other spots may vary, air is higher) - insurance to $100 is included. Expresspost-air post and Fedex are available for faster shipping options - please email with your zip code or postal code for the rates. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT accept Paypal. | ||
