| A decorative and fine early 19th century English china cup and saucer in the London shape, with black transfer ware decoration c1810-30. This 2-3/8" high cup and matching 5-3/8" deep saucer both feature hand painted black trim and black transfer scenes of a walking couple and a carriage approaching a manor house. There is a vignette of an elk / stag on the other side of this unmarked cup and saucer. It has a fine white body, very similar to examples we have seen of New Hall wares, and they did produce some black transfer ware in the London shape, but we have not been able to find an identical known example. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some tiny wear spots to black hand painted rims. There are minor glaze irregularities and a black painted spot inside the saucer, but these are original to the manufacture of the cup. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. Surface shipping starts at $8 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher, and mandatory on items over $85 if paid with a credit card. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. | ||
