| An attractive mid-Victorian mourning brooch c1860-80. It is a pressed horn with a dark resinous/lacquer finish to resemble jet or bog oak (which was a semi-petrified and preserved wood from the marshy bogs of Ireland, less common even in the 19th century, so also imitated). This 1-5/8" x 1" pin features a high relief flower spray; it has the original brass c-clasp. This piece of mourning jewelry is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs except a small edge flake. The brass c-clasp loop is a bit out of whack but is easily straightened. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted. Uninsured surface shipping starts at $6.70 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insurance is included. All of our prices are in $US. PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL, only VISA and MASTERCARD. | ||
