| A superbly crafted Gorham sterling silver, crystal and lizard skin (sorry, don't know which type) mounted man's drinking flask with a sterling twist top dated 1908. The fancy embossed, cork-lined twist open top is uninitialled and stamped Sterling, and the detachable drinking cup retains its original gilding on the interior, and is marked with the Gorham hallmarks, Sterling 3/8 Pint, and the number S3144 on the bottom. It is decorated with a crescent moon filled with four stars on one side and the fancy scripted initials PCSCSS (?) 1908 on the other. The crystal flask is in excellent shape with only 3 tiny fleabites on the inside rim under the cap. The lizard skin (we think) wrapping the flask has two oblong openings to show the level of the contents, and is in good shape, although it has shrunk with age and has slightly pulled back from the upper edge of the drinking cup. It also has a split at the bottom of the window on each side, but the flaps have been affixed to the glass at some point, and the skin fits snugly with no lifted or worn edges. The flask measures 6-1/8" x 3-3/4" and would be a prize for any collection. Shipping is $11 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. | ||
