| A deeply carved, high relief antique Chinese hand carved ivory broach set in a high grade silver (tests as sterling grade or better) setting. It most likely dates to the 18th to early 19th century. The scene shows six figures, one seated away in the building, and the others sitting and standing around one carrying a large covered bowl - just about to partake of a meal or see a treasure revealed. There is a lovely flowering tree in the scene also. It measures 1 9/16" x 1 1/4", and is 3/8" deep. The silver setting is bezel set around the back of the ivory. It is in excellent and original condition, with no damage or repairs (there is a little surface grime, visible in the picture) and it has its original c clasp. It is unmarked, which is fairly common with these brooches. A beauty! Surface shipping is $6 (to the US - other spots may vary) - insured is higher. We do ship internationally. All of our prices are in $US. | ||
