| A late Victorian period size 7-1/4 carved sardonyx cameo ring in 10k rose gold c1890. This ring features the carved sardonyx 1/2" x 3/8" portrait cameo with finely engraved and tooled shoulders; it is unmarked but tests as 10k solid gold. Sardonyx (which is also the traditional birthstone of August) is quite difficult to carve, so the nose on this cameo is present, but not carved as much in profile as a shell cameo would be. It weighs 2.8 grams and it is in very good original condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some tiny chipping to the nose. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are secondhand and may have slight signs of gentle use.
