A Wallace Nutting Nursing the Fire pencil signed photo. This unframed hand coloured and signed photograph print is by Wallace Nutting who was famous for his tinted photos, and those in our listings (four in total) are all sought after interior scenes. This 9-5/8" X 7-5/8" photo is mounted on a signed 10-1/2" X 7-3/4" mat and it is titled "Nursing the Fire", and it is copyrighted 1912. This photo retains its bright colours and it is in mostly excellent condition with no tears, scrapes, fading, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than some light spotting on the photo, either moisture or foxing. The signature and title is in pencil rather than in pen, which is more common on early Nuttings, and far rarer than the pen signatures. All of the Nuttings listed have the light coloured reverse copyright mark and date in the image, also something usually seen on the earlier Nuttings. The mats are a yellowed tone as may usually be seen with matting of this age. We don't ordinarily see unframed Wallace Nutting prints, so cannot say whether; it also has one small corner bump and the mat possibly has been trimmed, it may well have been. It is silver plated on copper and it has the maker's mark for Charles Howard Collins of Birmingham, England (founded c1895). An individual sterling silver egg cup with Birmingham 1937 hallmarks. This vintage 2-9/16" tall sterling eggcup is a simple design, and has a J monogram engraved on the f side. It has a swirled brown celluloid base cover covering the weighted base. It has a A.S.P Co. mark for the Angora Silver Plate Co. Ltd who were in Birmingham and in London. It weighs 34.9 gr. and it is in very good condition with no breaks, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, but please note that the base has a very slight surface denting which makes it appear a little out of the round - please see picture. A Queensland Bulldog Club award sterling silver cream & sugar 1916. This sterling silver creamer and sugar was given as an award for the Queensland Bulldog Club Championship of 1916. This is fully hallmarked for Sheffield England 1915-16. It consists of the 5" from handle to handle open sugar bowl and the matching creamer. Each piece retains their original interior gilding and they both have the Chester mark for 1915; the sugar bowl has the maker's mark for Joseph and Richard Griffin (est. 1915-16). This set was obtained from an Australian who brought it to Canada, and we are fairly sure that Q.B.C. refers to the Queensland Bulldog Club, a dog club founded in 1915. This set weighs 94.0 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A silver marcasites chariot & goats shell cameo pin brooch from 1900 1920. This unusual and beautiful vintage .800 silver filigree mounted shell cameo brooch has a barrel or trombone clasp, the setting is stamped with two marks that are difficult to make out as well as ITALY 800, and the hand carved shell cameo depicts a winged putto or angel figure in a chariot being pulled by two rearing goats (as they are wont to do...). The carving is fine and detailed and undoubtedly the work of a talented artisan, although, as is often the case, there is no signature on the back. The marcasites shine brightly and this 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" cameo is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, wear, repairs or damage.
