A lovely early 19th century sterling silver & paste belt buckle. This 2-7/8" x 1-3/8" buckle features antique hand cut clear paste stones, and the central pinion hinged section swings either way, with three teeth to hold the belt opening and the section that holds the belt end has three shallower teeth to secure the other end of the belt. They are both secured to the centre of the belt but are made so each moves independently of the other. It is a substantial and very well constructed piece, and still retains traces of its original gilding on the back of the buckle. It is not marked, which was fairly common, but has been tested & is guaranteed to be sterling grade silver. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage. A few of the paste stones have very minute surface edge abrasions, as may be expected, but none are serious or detract from the appearance of the buckle, and generally require a loupe to see, but without the loupe it appears in astonishingly great condition. A wonderful Art deco Industrial design black bakelite and aluminum bar pin c1930. This 3-7/8" pin consists of a black black bakelite round rod capped with machined turned round aluminum balls. This unmarked pin has a simple silver plated c-clasp and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage except for some minor bending to the pin. A dazzling cherry red and sparkling white crystal and paste Art Deco coat or dress clip c1920. The beautiful quality brilliant cherry red unfoiled cut glass stones and the centre white round antique cut rhinestone are riveted (they spin) onto the delicate brass filigree back. The colour is deeper and more sparkling than they appear in our unfortunate pictures... There is a a two spike coat clip behind this, and it measures 1 13/16" across. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, wear, staining, repairs or damage. It is unmarked but has the distinctive look and feel of Czechoslovakian manufacture. An attractive mid-Victorian mourning brooch c1860-80. It is a pressed horn with a dark resinous/lacquer finish to resemble jet or bog oak (which was a semi-petrified and preserved wood from the marshy bogs of Ireland, less common even in the 19th century, so also imitated). This 1-5/8" x 1" pin features a high relief flower spray; it has the original brass c-clasp.
