A vintage 1920s-30s Art Deco 1-1/4 x 5/8" silver pendant and 34-1/2" silver chain with springring catch. The pendant is stamped HB STE and it has a teardrop shaped black celluloid stone topped with a silve leaf with marquisites. The chain ends in a springring catch which joins with the pendant's loop; it is stamped ECCO STERLING on the loop. This item weighs 7.1 grams and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor scratching from rotation of the leaf insert on the celluloid. A Whitbread Tankard beer pub or bar sign 1950s-60s. This gilt metal and screen-printed plastic pub advertising sign measures 8-5/8" x 3-1/8" and it has white, gold, red and gold screening on a royal blue plastic oval, set in to a metal tripod-style base. Whitbread Tankard is an English beer, first introduced in 1958 or 1959 by the Whitbread brewery. (The Whitbread brewery is no longer in business). A Charles H. Clark John Knox House Limited Edition ethcing. This attractive 11-3/4" x 5-3/4" (plate size) etching by Charles Herbert Clark (England, b. 1890), depicting John Knox's House in Edinburgh, Scotland. Signed Chas. H. Clark in pencil in the lower right hand corner. Clark studied in the Liverpool School of Art and exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery. He resided in Liverpool, and his work was also exhibited at the Royal Academy. This framed etching is one of a limited (restricted) edition of 156 proofs. A decorative Royal Doulton series ware Bread as Pleasure D3444 plate with an heraldic motif, in the pattern number D3444. This plate features a green acanthus border with repeating turrets and scroll sections and a central crest with a lion and the legend BREAD AS PLEASURE DRINK BY MEASURE. A scarce and early red and white transfer large 10-1/2" rim soup bowl c1830s, in the Tadmor In The Desert pattern. From Jackson's Warranted (England) Holy Bible series, this early c1830s bowl is in fair original condition with no cracks, or repairs; it has the following condition notes - some minor inner rim losses (largest shown is 1/2", looks like a spoon rested in that spot for about 150 years, the rest are small), some minor outer edge glaze flakes, loss of gloss and fine network of cutmarks to the bowl interior from decades of use (not affecting transfer), allover crazing visible on back only, stained area on back. In fine condition considering its age, this scarce bowl shows quite well. A beautifully painted pair of framed watercolour photo renderings c1880-1900. They consist of a young man and woman in mid-Victorian dress; each image is done on Victorian photographic print paper and they measure 6-3/4" x 4-3/4". It was common to overpaint old and fading photographs, however these are of such fine quality and detail that they were most likely done from a mirrored projection, another common method of photographic rendering (we can't find any photographic detail under the painting with visual magnification). Each has the legend J. POWELL PHOTO on the image (even the J Powell is over-painted). The frames are an attractive matched pair of gilt painted wood, but are fairly recent in manufacture - the pictures were framed and matted less than 20 years ago. The couple is quite handsome, and they can be your new instant ancestors.... This pair of watercolour portraits is in very good original condition with no losses, damage or repairs other than a faint water stain and a couple of fox marks on the lady and some spots of missing colour on the gentleman (possibly from removal from some old glass to which the photo/picture had adhered). A handmade Art Deco pewter inkstand from the 1920s. This absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco sheet pewter-over-wood desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif. A vintage maroon velvet Bulova man's watch box with gilt mounts c1930s. This 4-7/8" x 3-1/4" box has a mount for a man's Bulova wristwatch, a velvet and shiny material liner, and a gold stamp saying BULOVA CANADA'S FINEST TIMEPIECES. It has a BULOVA name impressed into the front of the case (we're not sure if it has a metal nameplate or if it was impressed as it appears). A Vermont US Glass custart toothpick holder circa 1899. This scarce vintage 2-3/4" custard glass toothpick holder is in the Vermont or Honeycomb with Flower Band or Inverted Thumbprint Daisy Band pattern, issued by US Glass c1899. This example is in the custard glass colour, and is a US Glass original period piece, not a reproduction. It has crisply molded detail on the band, rim and on the feet; the honeycomb design is on the interior.
