An interesting antique silver plated pinioned-lid stamp box c1880-1890. This 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" unsigned box features a floral corner applique and two applied butterflies on the top, a pin stop and corner swinging pivot. The interior has remnants of what appears to be adhesive from some missing material and it has two cutout felt pieces; it would make a nice tiny jewel box also. This item is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a slight blush of brass on the applied sections and some minor roughness to the top's silver plating. A large vintage socket-blade cabinetmaker's slotted screwdriver circa 1920. This furniture maker's tool measures 18" long, including the 7-1/2" faceted massive wood handle with brass ferrule and an incised N initial on the handle. The hexagonal 1/2" wide blade is firmly mounted, and this vintage tool has a wonderful patina. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some possibly newer varnish on the handle covering a tight crack on the handle, and the end of the driver which has been sharpened in the past. A 19thC W.R. Loftus, London bronze cup measure. This late 19thC hand-made 2-1/4" bronze measuring cup was made by W.R. Loftus of 146 & 320 Oxford St., London, England. In business from c1860-1940, this company made pewter, beer machinery, bar fittings and also scientific equipment. This tapered cup has a ringed design and it is stamped LOFTUS LONDON 3. It has a brass soldered seam and bottom insert, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor patina from use and some minor bending of the upper rim. An Empress Gloss papier mache advertising box circa 1890-1900. This German box has a fancy script "EMPRESS" GLOSS gold advertising decal on the lid. This 6-1/4" x 2-1/4" box has a black lacquer exterior and a red interior, and the lid is hinge-mounted. It is stamped "PAPIER MACHE" MANUFACTURED IN GERMANY on the bottom. We were unable to find out any information on the product or company, but the polish for Victorian period leather boots was typically known then as shoe gloss, so possibly this was for a shoe polish product. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a few tiny flakes to the lacquer on the lid's edge (one visible, three under the lip) and some minor losses to the shiny gloss on the surface (very slight). A Webster sterling sugar basket with a cobalt liner from around 1900. This attractive American sterling silver swing handle sugar basket has the original cobalt glass liner. The 3-3/8" diameter bowl stands 3-1/2" high (6-1/8" with the handle), it has the Webster maker's mark with STERLING and the 10400 pattern number and it has a lightly engraved Gothic lettering E.T.Y monogram on the top of the handle (not shown). A pair of English sterling silver master salt spoons, fully hallmarked for London, England 1817. They are 4" in length., and have the maker's mark for Wm. Chawner (entered 1815). They weigh 34.5 grams. There is a heraldic crest of an English Ducal coronet with a lion rampant holding a circular object. A Roger Williams sterling footed openwork bowl circa 1905. This nice quality openwork sterling silver ball-footed bowl was made by the Roger Williams Silver Co.. They purchased the Howard Silver dies in 1901, merged with Mauser in 1903, then with Hays & McFarland Co. to found Mount Vernon Silversmiths. They were later bought by Gorham. This 6-3/8" x 4-3/4" ball footed dish is stamped I.R. PRINDLE (retailer) RW (Williams mark) STERLING and 7107 (pattern number). A mother of pearl rgp telescoping lorgnette handle from the 1890s. This eyeglasses extending handle is made of ornate rolled gold plate and hand carved mother of pearl panels with nice colour flash. It measures 5-1/4" when closed and 9-3/8" when opened. The top is 5/8" across, the extension has a fine checkerboard pattern, and the retaining inserts for the eyeglass frame are made of tortoiseshell. The opening is 3.5 mm. and the internal span is 10 mm.
