A Webster sterling sugar basket with a cobalt liner from around 1900. This attractive American sterling silver swing handle sugar basket has the original cobalt glass liner. The 3-3/8" diameter bowl stands 3-1/2" high (6-1/8" with the handle), it has the Webster maker's mark with STERLING and the 10400 pattern number and it has a lightly engraved Gothic lettering E.T.Y monogram on the top of the handle (not shown). An unusual unmarked (but tested) Egyptian sterling salt spoon with a dhow and palm tree niello enamel scene on the handle. Niello is a process where black enamel is applied and fired onto a hollowed out scene. A Dorflinger decanter with a blown stopper and label circa 1900. This 12-3/8" tall wine decanter (including stopper) is simple and undecorated and made by Dorflinger Glass Co. (1862-1921). This decanter measures 6" across the body, and this decanter retains its original (slightly worn) Dorflinger small sticker or label on the bottom. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs; it has the expected minor straw marks and imperfections found on early hand-blown glass pieces. There is a slight bit of calcium on the bottom which we haven't removed, and the stopper fits loosely as manufactured. A truly unusual vintage Art Nouveau period 7-1/4" x 4-5/8" porcelain dish with a high relief gilt woman smoking c1900. This unsigned dish has lots of gilding, and the woman is emitting a stream of smoke; there is a smoking cigarette to her right. It has a painted mark of 82 in red and it is probably German or Austrian. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, damage or repairs other than some rubbing and losses to the gilding. An enamel 800 silver enamel snuffbox or snuff box depicting the German resort city of Bad Ems. It measures 1-15/16" x 1-3/8". The lid is slightly convex and it is just under 5/8" deep/tall. The top of the hinged oval box features a completely hand enameled aerial scenic view of the city. It takes a enamelist of some training and skill, as not only must they be able to depict the view properly in enamel, but know how the enamel reacts when it is fired, as the colors change. The enamel is fine quality, and was done by hand. It is stamped either KFK or KEK, and 800. I have seen that mark on a few enamel souvenir spoons and a ring, I believe it dates to possibly around 1900 to 1920. It weighs 26.7 grams, the interior is gilded, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document.
