An ornate sterling silver English creamer, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1899-1900. This antique jug measures 2-1/8" high and 4-3/4" across the spout and handle. They weigh 34.5 grams. There is a heraldic crest of an English Ducal coronet with a lion rampant holding a circular object. A Queensland Bulldog Club award sterling silver cream & sugar 1916. This sterling silver creamer and sugar was given as an award for the Queensland Bulldog Club Championship of 1916. This is fully hallmarked for Sheffield England 1915-16. It consists of the 5" from handle to handle open sugar bowl and the matching creamer. Each piece retains their original interior gilding and they both have the Chester mark for 1915; the sugar bowl has the maker's mark for Joseph and Richard Griffin (est. 1915-16). This set was obtained from an Australian who brought it to Canada, and we are fairly sure that Q.B.C. refers to the Queensland Bulldog Club, a dog club founded in 1915. This set weighs 94.0 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A genuine late 17th to mid 18th century hand made openwork European grade sterling pierced strainer or ladle with a gilded bowl. This unusual 8" ladle has a gilt and pierced 2-3/8" x 2" bowl with a pouring lip, and would be a slightly higher than 800 grade silver. The openwork handle has wonderfully ornate hand made wire-work with two central medallions, which have never been engraved/monogrammed. The handle is completely hand made and it is applied to the bowl with a rat-tail. It has two hallmarks on the back of the handle, the clearest of the two is a round punch with an animal figure that appears to be a standing bear with an I to the right (the stamp was slightly larger than the handle, so the animal head is missing). This appears to be a mark used in Berlin (Germany) in the 17th and 18th century. The other mark is a simple S or snake mark, and we have not traced this mark/maker. The style, workmanship, patina and appearance of the piece is consistent with German and Austrian silver being manufactured in this period, so the mark is consistent with the visible age of the piece (late 17th to mid 18th century). We haven't run across this exact utensil before, so are unsure which particular food or drink it was used to strain - it could be a variant of a fruit punch or mead or wine strainer or skimmer. It is in really exceptionally fine condition with no monograms, repairs or damage. The end of the filigree work nearest the bowl is not soldered, but this may be an aspect of design rather than a break in the silver that may have occurred. A Reed & Barton sterling silver pillbox or dresser jar 1900-1910. This 1-5/8" across lidded jar is stamped STERLING M150 8 with the Reed and Barton silver mark and it weighs 16.8 grams. It has an ornate REB monogram, and the top extrudes slightly, possibly from being made to set in a travel case. The interior is lightly gilded. A Roger Williams sterling footed openwork bowl circa 1905. This nice quality openwork sterling silver ball-footed bowl was made by the Roger Williams Silver Co.. They purchased the Howard Silver dies in 1901, merged with Mauser in 1903, then with Hays & McFarland Co. to found Mount Vernon Silversmiths. They were later bought by Gorham. This 6-3/8" x 4-3/4" ball footed dish is stamped I.R. PRINDLE (retailer) RW (Williams mark) STERLING and 7107 (pattern number). It weighs 81.2 grams and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. A Royal Worcester blue and green floral design pedestal cake stand with the Worcester year date mark for 1913. This antique 8-1/2" diameter English bone china small cake stand is 1-3/4" tall. The design consists of green flowers with blue leaves and tendrils in a blue traditional Asian square plant-pot. It has an inner border-design, also in green. It also has a British registry number of 546206, indicating the design was registered in in Britain in 1909. Replacements.com calls this design RW7. Our stand has no underside number (if there at all, such numbers were usually on English china for stores to use in ordering the china). This item is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, staining, repairs or damage other than some slight flecks to the green upper rim paint trim and some very minor cut marks, only a few of which slightly affect the design.

An attractive blue & white dinner plate by Royal Worcester (England). It is covered with Oriental motifs, which was quite popular in English china in the 1870s. It is date stamped for 1876 and measures 10 3/8" across. It is in excellent overall condition, but does show signs of use - there are cut marks on the plate, and the glaze shows darker/brownish at the edges where the glaze appears to have been more thinly applied. A Sheffield plate helmet style cream jug circa 1780-1800. This 5" high genuine cream pitcher predates electroplating and it consists of thin layers of silver laid on to copper sheets; the sandwich of metals is then formed into the desired object. This unsigned creamer is in good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs; it has the expected areas of copper blush from polishing over the last couple of centuries. Re-plating these period pieces tends to devalue them from a Sheffield plate collection point of view.
