A nice mid-Victorian early thermoplastic or vulcanite cameo brooch c1860-70. Made of the same medium brown thermoplastic used in the era for items such as photograph cases (and sometimes mis-described as gutta percha, and also known by the trade name of Vulcanite), this 1-7/8" x 1-1/2" brooch has fine detail, and it depicts a cameo of very high definition (she sits a full 3/8" above the surface platform). She is a classical period Greek beauty with her eyes closed and a look of rapture on her face - she looks like Penelope from the classic Greek epic myth. The platform surface is surrounded by a twisted rope border. It has a replaced pin with a safety catch, and this lovely pin is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, staining, corrosion, repairs or damage other than the pin replacement. A Victorian Aesthetic sterling & 2 colour gold brooch. This fine quality Victorian period round engraved sterling brooch has applied engraved leaves in pink and green gold and it dates to the 1875-85 era. This 1-3/8" elegant Aesthetic design pin is unsigned but tests as sterling, and it features balls around the perimeter, a ridged border and central hand engraving. The textured and engraved leaves in gold are applied sections of sheet gold, and this pin closes with a c-clasp. A lovely Arts and Crafts period 830 silver high relief rose Skønvirke brooch circa 1900. This antique 2-1/8" x 1-5/8" pin has a long c-clasp and it is marked simply 830. It is quite likely this piece is Scandinavian, it is entirely consistent with early Skønvirke ("beautiful work") made popular by fine Scandinavian silver makers. It greatly resembles early Bernard Hertz work, but is not signed, other than the 830 silver mark. It is typically repousse with a solid flat back, for stability, and it weighs 15.6 grams. A Cellini Craft Arts & Crafts sterling ladle. This finely crafted Georg Jensen style sterling gravy ladle was made by the American Cellini Craft company of Chicago in the 1930s. This 6-1/4" ladle has a 2-1/4" wide bowl and a hand hammered finish on all surfaces; it has a looping arch of silver with nodes terminating in a ball which stands proud of the handle and is reminiscent of the Georg Jensen style. It is stamped CELLINI CRAFT HANDWROUGHT STERLING S 53 on the back; it has a Gothic style M.E.S monogram on the heel of the bowl. A superb Deco Osiris Egyptian sp dangle brooch circa 1920. Enrique Ledesma Mexican sterling inlaid pin. A stunning, ultramodern vintage 1950s Mexican sterling silver pin by Enrique Ledesma. This 2-1/8" x 1 1-1/2" modernist pin features what appears to be a rough mixture of azurmalachite inlaid in an undulating silver brooch. It has a rough, naturalistic texture, with small losses revealing malachite below, and it has a safety catch; it is stamped LEDESMA TAXCO 925 with a bell mark. A great looking vintage Murano glass sautoir necklace c1920s. This chrome plated beauty features a 15-1/2" chrome plated chain with links and yellow Murano glass spacer beads as well as two 1/2" glass barrel beads with pink and green rose floral cane inclusions and chrome end caps. There is a 1-3/4" x 1" pendant at the center consisting of a large disc of yellow Murano glass with included flowers and three drops, one of floral glass and two (additions) of glass pearls. An Empress Gloss papier mache advertising box circa 1890-1900. This German box has a fancy script "EMPRESS" GLOSS gold advertising decal on the lid. This 6-1/4" x 2-1/4" box has a black lacquer exterior and a red interior, and the lid is hinge-mounted. It is stamped "PAPIER MACHE" MANUFACTURED IN GERMANY on the bottom. We were unable to find out any information on the product or company, but the polish for Victorian period leather boots was typically known then as shoe gloss, so possibly this was for a shoe polish product. A set of six (6) silver plated spoons by Christofle (France). They appear to be a variant of unknown usage of dessert spoons - they measure 6 3/8" in length. The pattern looks like Fidelio, but I have not seen this spoon in Fidelio before. They are in perfect condition - they were given as a gift quite a few years back and were never used, just polished occasionally. Unfortunately, I have no idea what they are, but I would be happy to add it to the description if anyone would care to email. There are no initials or inscriptions on the spoons, but there is an interesting fire-breathing dragon engraved on the back of the spoons. A Dorflinger decanter with a blown stopper and label circa 1900. This 12-3/8" tall wine decanter (including stopper) is simple and undecorated and made by Dorflinger Glass Co. (1862-1921). This decanter measures 6" across the body, and this decanter retains its original (slightly worn) Dorflinger small sticker or label on the bottom. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs; it has the expected minor straw marks and imperfections found on early hand-blown glass pieces. There is a slight bit of calcium on the bottom which we haven't removed, and the stopper fits loosely as manufactured.
