A Wallace Nutting An Elaborate Dinner signed photo. This unframed hand coloured and signed photograph print is by Wallace Nutting who was famous for his tinted photos, and those in our listings are all sought after interior scenes. This 9-3/8" X 7-3/8" photo is mounted on a signed 9-1/2" X 8-1/4" mat and it is titled "An Elaborate Dinner", and it is copyrighted 1909. The signature and title is in pencil rather than in pen, which is more common on early Nuttings, and far rarer than the pen signatures. All of the Nuttings listed have the light coloured reverse copyright mark and date in the image, also something usually seen on the earlier Nuttings. This photo retains its bright colours and it is in mostly excellent condition for unframed with no tears, scrapes, fading, bends, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor light coloured spotting on the upper of the photo, moisture or foxing. The mats are a light yellowed tone as may usually be seen with matting of this age and this one has a 1/2" tear below the first N in dinner. We don't ordinarily see unframed Wallace Nutting prints, so cannot say whether the mat has been trimmed, it may well have been. A 19thC 15k garnet pearls stickpin cravat or tie pin in a case. This 2-3/8" pin has a flower style 3/8" head with a deep ruby red garnet surrounded by pearls. It is unmarked but tests as 15k and the gold is slightly rose in colour. The pin is Victorian in style with the twisted shaft inserted into a ring on the head however the fitted hinged case has the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd. mark used after 1898 with the Appointment to the King legend which would make it Edwardian. It's possible the pin is older than the case but it could also be contemporary to it (c1901) even though it has an older Victorian manufacturing style. We obtained them together and that's how we're selling them. The case is velvet and silk lined with a gold maker's stamp. This lovely pin is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than some minor rubs to the black leather wrapped gold trimmed case. It can be re-blacked with shoe polish if you want. An Edwardian 10k 14k birds and heart seed pearls lavaliere necklace circa 1900 1910. This classy and elegant 18-3/8" necklace features three flying birds, one of which is mounted on a heart with a star suspended from it. The seed pearls spread throughout the 2-1/2 - 1-1/8" central drop are quite attractive and the drop is stamped 10K. A stunning set of three vintage late Victorian hand hammered repousse copper nesting serving trays c1900. These unsigned but high quality trays are of thick, robust construction, and they measure 12 x 9-1/2", 16 x 12", and a whopping 20 x 15". Each has high relief floral decoration and rolled edges for strength - they weigh 2752 grams in total. It is unusual to find one copper tray, and a set of three matching trays is rare indeed. They were polished when we obtained them and they are starting to darken now - you can polish them or let them get back to their rich original brown patina if you wish. This 2-1/2" stickpin features two Art Nouveau maidens with flowing decoration and bright beams of light flashing from a star in their hair. It has a typical period matte or Roman finish of deep yellow old (the gold was acid treated to bring a pure gold bloom or colour to the piece, apopular finish at the time). A late Victorian gp serpent snake necklace with a cabochon. This beautifully made late Victorian or Edwardian vintage gold plated over brass serpent necklace is from 1890-1900. This 20-1/2" necklace features a finely detailed snake head with open mouth and jagged teeth, patterned scales, and a bezel-set turquoise blue coloured glass cabochon on its head. The head screws onto the threaded end which protrudes through the coiled tail of the snake; the chain itself is serpentine and flexible.
