A highly ornate engraved and tooled mid-Victorian silver coloured metal (not sterling) 1-1/4 x 1-1/8" photo locket. This 1870s-80s unsigned pendant has two different fancy external metal faces mounted on brass; it has both retaining bezels and some strands of hair inside along with blue backing papers. A mid-Victorian 2-1/4 x 1-7/8" reverse painted Essex crystal brooch c1850s-60s. This pin features a rolled gold plated setting with the original long c-clasp and pin. The reverse carved and hand painted flowers have silver paint (with some oxidation on a few of the flowers) and the crystal is bevelled. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, however there is a small 3/8" segment of the bezel metal missing along one edge. There is an internal glass flaw which appears as a line across the crystal, but this can't be felt on the top of the crystal or seen on the painted underside and it is not a crack. It is barely visible under natural or room lights, however it shows up under our halogens (see picture). A lovely early 19th century sterling silver & paste belt buckle. This 2-7/8" x 1-3/8" buckle features antique hand cut clear paste stones, and the central pinion hinged section swings either way, with three teeth to hold the belt opening and the section that holds the belt end has three shallower teeth to secure the other end of the belt. They are both secured to the centre of the belt but are made so each moves independently of the other. It is a substantial and very well constructed piece, and still retains traces of its original gilding on the back of the buckle. It is not marked, which was fairly common, but has been tested & is guaranteed to be sterling grade silver. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage. A few of the paste stones have very minute surface edge abrasions, as may be expected, but none are serious or detract from the appearance of the buckle, and generally require a loupe to see, but without the loupe it appears in astonishingly great condition. A 14k yellow gold asteroid pearl and diamond stickpin or tie or cravat pin circa 1890. This 2-1/4" long pin has a 5/8" x 1/4" top with a claw-set natural 3 mm. pearl and a claw-set genuine round antique cut diamond. This pin shows both the fascination at the time with the solar system, many stickpins had moon, stars and planets at the time, and the shooting star had romantic connotations as well, which made it a suitable sweetheart or engagement gift. It weighs 1.2 grams and is stamped 14K with an obscured maker's mark on the pin shaft. An E A Bliss gold plated buckle design sash brooch circa 1895. This hand engraved pin measures 3-1/8" x 1-5/8" and has the original c-clasp. It has the company mark of the EA Bliss company of New York (est. 1875). This company later became Napier. Sash pins were quite popular at the end of the Victorian era, with some fine Art Nouveau designs also. An 18k diamonds and cornflower sapphires row ring circa 1890. This Victorian period size 6 ring is 18k yellow gold, with genuine natural sapphires and antique sut diamonds. It measures 3/4" x 3/16" across the setting, the two diamonds measure approximately 10 points each by gauge, and the cornflower blue sapphires measure approximately 6 points each (side) and 12 points (central). A scarce and unusual Victorian sterling silver and gold Mizpah bracelet c1870-90 (they are sometimes also referred to as Luckenbooth bracelets). This unmarked piece of sentimental Victorian jewellery features a spring-style bangle configuration mounted with the attached hearts under a bow, with yellow gold engraved flowers and rose gold leaves on textured silver tendrils. This unusual Victorian period bracelet measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" across the interior and 5/8" across the heart and ribbon. There is a retaining pin at the bottom of one heart to lock the bangle closed in place, it weighs 9.5 grams, and this item is in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two dents on one heart and on one edge of the bracelet and a bit of flattening near the bottom. A Victorian 10k yellow gold ring featuring genuine blue iolites and natural seed pearls circa 1880s. The iolites are a deep royal blue gem stone in round antique cut. Burmese sapphires were expensive and often difficult to obtain in the late 19thC, so good quality iolites were sometimes used - these stones are original to the ring, not replacements. The flower circle design stayed popular into the Edwardian period, although Edwardian examples were usually simpler with less gem stones. The top of this size 4 antique ring measures 1/2" across, it weighs 2.3 grams, and it is stamped 10K with an arrow maker's mark. The iolites are reasonably well colour matched and in good condition, but one stone is deeper in color. The halogens threw off the colour of one in the pictures. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, but please note that a couple of the seed pearls are slightly darker in colour.
