A hand engraved Georgian 9k yellow gold and RGP engraved watch key. This 1-7/8 x 3/4" winding key features a rolled gold plate rotating swivel loop and a rotating knob on the RGP winding shaft. Both have underlying metal for rigidity and resistance to wear (gold is very soft), but the body of the key tests as 9 carat gold (the key is unmarked). A Gorham sterling silver miniature chamber stick or candle holder dated 1891. This Victorian era ornate chamberstick stands 1-5/8" high and it measures 3-3/8" across the base. It is stamped with the lion/anchor/G mark, along with STERLING 181 and the year cypher for 1891. Although a dainty size, these small candle holders sat on a writing deak or in a travel writing desk, as they had the practical use of melting sealing wax for an envelope or document. A fine example of mid-Victorian Naturalism. This is a silver plated egg stand in the form of tree branches, with the English registry mark for 1871. This set consists of the four silver plated 2-3/8" high eggcups and the cast metal 5-1/2" tall handled base with branches and leaves. The base measures 4-1/2" across, it has branch supports for four spoons (not present), and it has the registry mark on the bottom. Also on the bottom is a W7754 pattern number and an obscured maker's mark; it appears to have been re-plated in the past as shown by the lack of tarnish in the deep crevasses. A sterling silver cigarette case with an enamel crest from the Royal Canadian Air Force hallmarked 1937. This vintage classic silver case an engine-turned design and a triple F monogram (probably presented to a World War I soldier) and it retains all of the original interior gilding. The original cigarette retaining spring is present but typically slightly stretched. It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham England 1937 and it weighs 97.9 grams. It has the maker's mark for Samuel M. Levi Ltd. The interior guard spring for the cigarettes is still present, but a bit stretched at each end. The case closes shut firmly and is aligned, but please note there is a slight bowing in the middle. This is likely an easy fix, even an at-home one. A John Hubert Beynon watercolor painting believed to be painted in the 1930s. This vintage lovely small - 3-1/2" x 2-5/8" - size watercolour is in a chip carved gilt wood frame. This Canadian artist was born in Minnedosa Manitoba Canada in 1890. He painted landscapes in Ontario and Quebec. He is represented in the National Gallery of Canada collection. He studied art in New York and in the Central Ontario School of Art. This painting shows a hilly lake shore with windswept trees. The frame measures 7-1/4" x 6-1/2" . It is signed J.H. BEYNON in the lower left, his name is also written on the back, along with L. BUCKBY in ink and 247 338 guild along with a tag from the framing shop.
