A signed BJL marcasites with blue and green enamel peacock brooch circa 1950s 1960. This vintage 2" x 1" rhodium plated and marquisite figural pin ihas excellent detail. Research as far as we have found has indicated a Canadian maker, and we have run across a few pieces before marked this way, but still looking for details. This ornate bird brooch has a safety clasp, it is signed BJL, and the enamel is bright with royal and cobalt blue, emerald green, orange and yellow. It also has green on the head feathers, and this pin is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. An Art Deco enamelled brass bookmark from the 1920s. This 4-1/4 x 1" bookmark features an angular Deco design and a flower basket motif. A Japanese Komai 3-5/8 x 1/2" scalloped-edge pin. This pin features inlaid silver, copper and gold on a black enamel ground in a gold plated setting; it has a Japanese mountain and village scene. An unusual unmarked (but tested) Egyptian sterling salt spoon with a dhow and palm tree niello enamel scene on the handle. Niello is a process where black enamel is applied and fired onto a hollowed out scene. This 2-1/2" spoon is in excellent original condition with no scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small spot of surface tarnish in the bowl which can be easily buffed or polished out. A pair of quality enamel souvenir pins c1920s, depicting a finely enamelled scene of Sturgeon Lake and the Collegiate Institute, Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. The flag pin measures 1-1/8 x 1" and the Institute measures 1-1/4 x 1-1/8"; each is on brass and the lake scene is marked CZECHOSLOVALIA. Both have a c-clasp, and they are in very good original condition with no crazing, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny loss and a surface crack on the lower left of the lake scene and a 1/4" long enamel loss to the other. A lovely late Edwardian period 14k yellow gold brooch with dainty robin's egg blue and white matte enamelled flowers with natural pearl centers c1910. This 1-1/2" x 1/2" pin weighs 2.8 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage other than that the c-clasp has been replaced with a safety catch and that one of the pearls has been reset at some point in the past. These restorations were professionally done, and don't affect the appearance and beauty of this lovely pin in any way.
