A 19thC W.R. Loftus, London bronze cup measure. This late 19thC hand-made 2-1/4" bronze measuring cup was made by W.R. Loftus of 146 & 320 Oxford St., London, England. In business from c1860-1940, this company made pewter, beer machinery, bar fittings and also scientific equipment. This tapered cup has a ringed design and it is stamped LOFTUS LONDON 3. It has a brass soldered seam and bottom insert, and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor patina from use and some minor bending of the upper rim. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A 19thC Royal Copenhagen white bisque porcelain plaque with cherubs circa 1860 1880. This antique Danish 6" x 4-7/8" wall has a detailed scen of cheubic figures helping to gather and crush grapes. It is marked ENERET EB on the back with the three blue lines Copenhagen mark. This item is in very good condition with no crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than some original firing lines/cracks cracks on the top and bottom edges which are original to the manufacture of the piece and two small edge chips on the right hand edge. A small and decorative handled silverplated candy or serving dish with a pressed glass bowl and a turned wood painted handle c1890. This dish stands 6" high and 5-1/4" long; it is 4-1/2" wide. It is of high quality, with conical feet, a threaded bolt securing the handle and nuts securing the base to the diamond shaped silverplated handle. This dish is unmarked but probably English, and the original fitted pressed glass bowl has a crisp and pleasant pattern. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, dents, monograms, corrosion, repairs or damage. There are a number of American silversmiths/firms with the name Davis, also a Toronto manufacturing firm of that name. It could possibly also refer to a retailer. It has a script AC(?) monogram, it weighs a substantial 40 grams, and it is in excellent vintage condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
