A late Victorian gp serpent snake necklace with a cabochon. This beautifully made late Victorian or Edwardian vintage gold plated over brass serpent necklace is from 1890-1900. This 20-1/2" necklace features a finely detailed snake head with open mouth and jagged teeth, patterned scales, and a bezel-set turquoise blue coloured glass cabochon on its head. The head screws onto the threaded end which protrudes through the coiled tail of the snake; the chain itself is serpentine and flexible. A vintage and superb Art Nouveau period 9/16" diameter 12K yellow gold stickpin (unmarked but tested) c1890-1900. This 2-1/2" stickpin features two Art Nouveau maidens with flowing decoration and bright beams of light flashing from a star in their hair. It has a typical period matte or Roman finish of deep yellow old (the gold was acid treated to bring a pure gold bloom or colour to the piece, apopular finish at the time).
