This great looking Mexican sterling silver pin and matching screwback earrings is by Nestor, a respected designer in (probably) the 1950s. This set consists of the 2-5/8 x 1-5/8" pin and the matching 7/8" across earrings. Each is in metales casados (mixed metals) including brass, silver and copper with black enamel, with a mosaico azteca ground (crushed azurite and malachite stones). A fine modernist design 835 silver and rutilated quartz brooch made by Kordes & Lichtenfels of Pforzheim Germany circa 1950s 1960. This abstract 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pin is signed 835 and K&L and it also has the three crown Swedish silver mark, so this piece was imported into Sweden originally to be sold. This 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pin features square shape cabochon stones with black inclusions called rutilated quartz.
