A wonderfully styled vintage Art Deco pocket comb in green celluloid with a designed sleeve. This 4-1/2 x 1-1/8" comb is in a green celluloid, which has mellowed to an olive and light butterscotch brown colour. The comb has a checkerboard decoration with cream white squares on a green and copper metallic ground; the cover has black paint, subtle hand carving and gold highlights. Both pieces are unsigned, however we aren't sure if they started life together or not, although they fit together well (the decoration is different on each piece). This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than the mellowing of the once bright green colour. A handmade Art Deco pewter inkstand from the 1920s. This absolutely fabulous vintage Art Deco sheet pewter-over-wood desk set consists of the 8-5/8 x 5-1/2" base, with a fitted glass inkwell, a hand-done optical checkerboard Deco motif (stippled and gloss segments) and a matching 8 x 7/8" letter opener, which rests on one of the two channels on the base (the other is for a pen). Also included is a 5-1/8 x 2-1/8" rocking ink blotter with screw-on knob and checkerboard motif. This high quality but unsigned writing stand has bun feet and a cloth covering on the wood base, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. It has the attractive minor surface irregularities found on handmade pieces - a great addition to your desk. A Mauchline ware Flume, White Mountains, N.H. bank circa 1900. This unusual late Victorian Mauchlineware barrel shaped 3-1/8" high wooden coin bank was made in Scotland and it has a decal depicting the Flume gorge in the Franconia Notch State Park, White Mountains, N.H. (New Hampshire, U.S.A.). It also has a decal stating SCOTLAND on the back and it was made as a souvenir for the U.S. market. This item is in very good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor scrapes and varnish losses and some minor loss to the original paper on the bottom. It has a 1750 1920 pencil inscription inside the lid. A McCamus Bobcaygeon Ontario medicine chemical bottle circa 1900. This 2-3/4" high (with lid) medicine or chemical bottle with the original paper label has a turned wooden mushroom cap. Thomas McCamus (b.1860) was the son of Wm. McCamus, a druggist in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada (in the 1881 census, he was listed as a clerk, presumably in his father's druggist and chemist store, which he must have later taken over as indicated by his name on the label). The printed label states: T. McCAMUS, CHEMIST AND DRUGGIST, BOBCAYGEON, ONTARIO. and it has BISMUTH SUB. (illegible). The turned wooden cap is cork lined and it has a fragmented black paper lining. The bottle is two-molded with the expected flaws. This early Canadian medicinal bottle is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some minor staining and fading to the label and some cracking and loss to the lid liner. Please note that the pictures are darker than the actual label, and it looks much better condition-wise in person.
