A Sheffield plate helmet style cream jug circa 1780-1800. This 5" high genuine cream pitcher predates electroplating and it consists of thin layers of silver laid on to copper sheets; the sandwich of metals is then formed into the desired object. This unsigned creamer is in good original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs; it has the expected areas of copper blush from polishing over the last couple of centuries. Re-plating these period pieces tends to devalue them from a Sheffield plate collection point of view. A small and decorative handled silverplated candy or serving dish with a pressed glass bowl and a turned wood painted handle c1890. This dish stands 6" high and 5-1/4" long; it is 4-1/2" wide. It is of high quality, with conical feet, a threaded bolt securing the handle and nuts securing the base to the diamond shaped silverplated handle. This dish is unmarked but probably English, and the original fitted pressed glass bowl has a crisp and pleasant pattern. A superb and very heavy quality silver plated fruit bowl with high relief designs and scrolling c1890, made by E.G. Webster & Son of Brooklyn, New York. This bowl measures 12-3/4 x 10" and it weighs an impressive 1 lb. 14-1/2 ounces. It has the crown, lion and Prince of Wales feathers marks and a 154 pattern. This mark is sometimes erroneously ascribed to the sterling silver wares of Webster (Rainwater) but it is plated. This item is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, dents, monograms, repairs or damage other than some tiny and shallow surface pits on the interior edge of the bottom of the bowl. It appears to have been re-plated in the past and the finish is shiny with no losses (replater's mark near factory mark). A fine example of mid-Victorian Naturalism. This is a silver plated egg stand in the form of tree branches, with the English registry mark for 1871. This set consists of the four silver plated 2-3/8" high eggcups and the cast metal 5-1/2" tall handled base with branches and leaves. The base measures 4-1/2" across, it has branch supports for four spoons (not present), and it has the registry mark on the bottom. Also on the bottom is a W7754 pattern number and an obscured maker's mark; it appears to have been re-plated in the past as shown by the lack of tarnish in the deep crevasses. An unmarked but Arts and Crafts period bud vase with a square and austere silver plated base and a hand blown and pulled square glass vase insert with a flared neck c1890-1900. This vase measures 7/8" across the base and it stands 6" high; it has all of the handcrafted style expected in the Arts and Crafts European style of this era. We were informed that it probably came from Scotland originally. An interesting antique silver plated pinioned-lid stamp box c1880-1890. This 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" unsigned box features a floral corner applique and two applied butterflies on the top, a pin stop and corner swinging pivot. The interior has remnants of what appears to be adhesive from some missing material and it has two cutout felt pieces; it would make a nice tiny jewel box also. This item is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a slight blush of brass on the applied sections and some minor roughness to the top's silver plating.
