It may have originally been a brooch or some other decoration, these pieces were sometimes converted to dress clips after 1910, and the clip section doesn't appear to be added, but may have been. The unsigned pendant is suspended from a carved 3/4" bone bale, and it was common in this era to combine the natural and manmade in pieces such as this; it is likely that this necklace and pendant were original to each other.
