A 14k yellow gold asteroid pearl and diamond stickpin or tie or cravat pin circa 1890. This 2-1/4" long pin has a 5/8" x 1/4" top with a claw-set natural 3 mm. pearl and a claw-set genuine round antique cut diamond. This pin shows both the fascination at the time with the solar system, many stickpins had moon, stars and planets at the time, and the shooting star had romantic connotations as well, which made it a suitable sweetheart or engagement gift. A mid-Victorian 2-1/4 x 1-7/8" reverse painted Essex crystal brooch c1850s-60s. This pin features a rolled gold plated setting with the original long c-clasp and pin. The reverse carved and hand painted flowers have silver paint (with some oxidation on a few of the flowers) and the crystal is bevelled. This item is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, however there is a small 3/8" segment of the bezel metal missing along one edge. There is an internal glass flaw which appears as a line across the crystal, but this can't be felt on the top of the crystal or seen on the painted underside and it is not a crack. It is barely visible under natural or room lights, however it shows up under our halogens (see picture). A lovely early 19th century sterling silver & paste belt buckle. This 2-7/8" x 1-3/8" buckle features antique hand cut clear paste stones, and the central pinion hinged section swings either way, with three teeth to hold the belt opening and the section that holds the belt end has three shallower teeth to secure the other end of the belt. They are both secured to the centre of the belt but are made so each moves independently of the other. It is a substantial and very well constructed piece, and still retains traces of its original gilding on the back of the buckle. It is not marked, which was fairly common, but has been tested & is guaranteed to be sterling grade silver. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, corrosion, repairs or damage. A few of the paste stones have very minute surface edge abrasions, as may be expected, but none are serious or detract from the appearance of the buckle, and generally require a loupe to see, but without the loupe it appears in astonishingly great condition. A stylish antique Victorian period large Neoclassical style hair / mourning brooch c1860-70. This 2" x 1-1/2" pin features the multilayered effect found in Victorian high-style jewellery, and it has great gold appliques and fine ropework. It features two braids of blonde and brown hair under the original glass, which retains its original bezel. One plait is small and chestnut brown and tied with a pink ribbon, the other larger one is blonde with grey. This unmarked piece of sentimental Victorian jewellery features a spring-style bangle configuration mounted with the attached hearts under a bow, with yellow gold engraved flowers and rose gold leaves on textured silver tendrils. This unusual Victorian period bracelet measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4" across the interior and 5/8" across the heart and ribbon.
