A French carved galalith necklace from the 1930s in green and white - NOS. this new pld stock (NOS) French 16" necklace has hand-carved graduated green coated galalith beads. The beads are carved through the green coating, which was done by dipping the beads, then carving them showing the white galalith beneath, and the beads range from 3/16" to 11/16" across. This necklace has a green dipped galalith barrel clasp, and it retains the original store order tag, which has a printed MADE IN FRANCE on the one side, and #700 stock number and $12.00/doz. written on it in pen on the other side. This unused necklace is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs. Please note that the carving, which has to be hand or machine done on galalith, has some minor irregularities. An attractive mid-Victorian mourning brooch c1860-80. It is a pressed horn with a dark resinous/lacquer finish to resemble jet or bog oak (which was a semi-petrified and preserved wood from the marshy bogs of Ireland, less common even in the 19th century, so also imitated). This 1-5/8" x 1" pin features a high relief flower spray; it has the original brass c-clasp. This piece of mourning jewelry is in excellent original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs except a small edge flake. An Edwardian pot metal paste bangle 1910-1920. This vintage 5/16" wide paste rhinestone hinged bangle is made of dull grey pot metal (brightened in our pictures), and it has dozens of claw-set antique cut paste rhinestones. Paste of this era was less sparkly than later versions and glinted like antique cut diamonds in low lighting conditions (such as at night). It has a double-button box clasp and it is unsigned, and it measures 2-3/8 x 2-1/16" across the interior.
