A Roden (Birks) sterling 1930s napkin ring with an N monogram by Roden Bros, Toronto. Roden was bought out by Birks in 1928. This 3/4" wide sterling napkin ring measures 2" x 1-1/2" across the interior and it has lined decoration. It has a rubbed STERLING mark with the Roden maker's mark. Birks bought all Roden's inventory and parts and molds, and the Roden mark can be seen on some Birks silver items until several decades after. It weighs 19.2 grams and it is in excellent vintage condition with no breaks, bends, corrosion, losses, or repairs. It had the expected patina from use and some very tiny edge dents on upper rim, visible upon very close inspection. A sterling silver cigarette case with an enamel crest from the Royal Canadian Air Force hallmarked 1937. This vintage classic silver case an engine-turned design and a triple F monogram (probably presented to a World War I soldier) and it retains all of the original interior gilding. The original cigarette retaining spring is present but typically slightly stretched. It is fully hallmarked for Birmingham England 1937 and it weighs 97.9 grams. It has the maker's mark for Samuel M. Levi Ltd. The interior guard spring for the cigarettes is still present, but a bit stretched at each end. The case closes shut firmly and is aligned, but please note there is a slight bowing in the middle. This is likely an easy fix, even an at-home one.
