This table serving item has a hinged lid and a slot for a mustard spoon, and it has the original cobalt blue glass liner. It has a WV&S maker's mark for William Vale & Sons (registered 1895) and it has a weighted base for stability (with some later felt on the bottom). An English sterling silver graduated heavy link watch chain, hallmarked with a date stamp on the swivel and onecente-loop for Birmingham 1901. The fob is an 1897 English silver thruppence - threepenny or three pence silver coin. This coin was sometimes used as here to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897 celebrating 60 years reign. Each link has the lion passant mark for sterling silver. This watch fob chain weighs 39.5 grams, and it is in mostly excellent condition with no breaks, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, just wear consistent with its age and silver content, and signs of wear to the end loop. This 2-1/8" x 1 1-1/2" modernist pin features what appears to be a rough mixture of azurmalachite inlaid in an undulating silver brooch. It has a rough, naturalistic texture, with small losses revealing malachite below, and it has a safety catch; it is stamped LEDESMA TAXCO 925 with a bell mark. A Cellini Craft Arts & Crafts sterling ladle. This finely crafted Georg Jensen style sterling gravy ladle was made by the American Cellini Craft company of Chicago in the 1930s. This 6-1/4" ladle has a 2-1/4" wide bowl and a hand hammered finish on all surfaces; it has a looping arch of silver with nodes terminating in a ball which stands proud of the handle and is reminiscent of the Georg Jensen style. It is stamped CELLINI CRAFT HANDWROUGHT STERLING S 53 on the back; it has a Gothic style M.E.S monogram on the heel of the bowl.
